Thoroughbred Performance & Engineering was founded in 2010. Peter, the workshops Head Performance Mechanic and owner, has been working in the mechanical & performance field for over 12 years.

​

Upon the completion of his Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Design & Manufacture) at Swinburne University, Peter wanted to get more hands on experience completing a Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology (Specialising in Heavy Vehicle Mobile Equipment) with the Adelaide Caterpillar Dealership, Cavpower. In 2015 Peter then relocated back to Victoria to work for the Caterpillar dealership, William Adams.

At Thoroughbred we specialise in custom performance modifications and tuning. Our experienced team are passionate about cars and dedicated to providing high-quality workmanship. Peter founded Thoroughbred as a result of his passion for engineering and modifying cars to meet customers wants and needs. His passion runs deep, growing up in his father's workshop always ready to discover what could be done to get cars thriving again. These teachings, from beyond his years in the field enables Peter to working with a vast range of vehicles, diesel and petrol, modern performance cars, classic cars and much more.

Today, Peter has gone on to be recognised for a number of his customers' vehicles in a motor enthusiasts’ magazine and websites for his work modifying and engineering their race cars. His passion, knowledge and experience when it comes to creating specialised modifications to vehicles and machines can be seen with every interaction and every customisation.
